Page Rank

I admit, I was never quite interrested about page ranks and stats until yesterday, that is! I was blog hopping and clicking at widgets along the way when lo and behold, I came across Mypagerank. Out of curiousity and typed away my URL for Coffee Cup Princess and it generated a Google Page Rank of 4! According to Google;

PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves “important” weigh more heavily and help to make other pages “important”.

Technically, my site value is 4! That’s something to someone who has just discovered the joys of blogging everyday! I’m using all my time this summer to continue on and visit sites, add links, exchange links, technorati faves, RSS, and all that linky love thingy’s popping around in the blogosphere.
